Favorite Things
Don’t we all want to make life easier? Know the best recommendations, tips & tricks to make life simpler on a daily basis? For me this idea of favorite things spun from Oprah, naturally, and I’m pretty sure has become a “core memory” for me (a reference those of you with kids who watched Inside Out will understand).
For decades people have awaited Oprah’s Favorite Things List. We all want her guidance, giving us confidence knowing what she deems the best of the best. Really what we want is to end the time consuming search on our own.
Alright, I’m no Oprah, but I’m doing my best to share with you my favorite things! My recommendations come directly from my house, and are some of my best ways to life easier in our home. Read on to discover my go-to can’t-life-without items. Visit my new Favorite Things page to see the full list of amazing items.
Favorite Things
Instant Pot:
The ultimate time-saver for working parents. One pot meals, cooking in bulk and preparing weeknight meals in limited time. The Instant Pot has you covered. Plus they now double as a slow cooker and pressure cooker, saving valuable space in your cupboards.
Good Food Great Medicine:
This is more than a cookbook, it’s a roadmap for creating excellent health with food as your guide. When I make reference to “food is medicine” this book will always come to mind. It’s a cookbook, yes, but it’s also an education in how food supports our health and the impact it has on us long-term. His recipes remain on constant rotation in our house, and are my absolute favorites.
Standing Mixer:
I’ll admit it, I am very frugal at heart. I come from a long line of frugal folks, so it’s engrained in my DNA. That being said, if I were to recommend a splurge purchase, this would be it. I absolutely love my standing mixer, and honestly it’s far more versatile than I originally thought. Do you struggle to mix up natural peanut butter? Empty the whole container in the standing mixer and let it do the work. Plus make energy balls to follow and you’ve really saved time! Do you love homemade meatballs but hate mixing the ingredients with your hands (my hand is raised), let the mixer do the gross work. It’s versatile, a time saver, and looks pretty on the counter.
Books, books and more books:
I’ve been a book lover all my life, and it brings me great joy to curl up with a new book. I also love sharing my favorite picks! If I were to share them all the list would be overwhelming, so I weeded it down to a mix of the best-of-the-best. I’ll keep this updated as new favorites are uncovered, but as it stands today these are a phenomenal start!
This is simply a sampling of my favorite things, be sure to check out the full list. I promise to keep it updated and fresh with my latest tried & true recommendations that I know you’ll love.
