What is Holistic Health?

We view wellness as a holistic process, with many components coming together to paint a picture of overall wellbeing.

Understanding that wellness isn’t a single path, but instead a series of intertwined paths, is vital for creating true health in our lives. Through a balance of nourishment, social connections, movement and mindfulness, holistic health will be achieved.

Nourishment

How we choose to feed our body is individual and specific to us. No two people are alike and what makes one person feel on top of their game, could leave another feeling sluggish and uncomfortable. Deconstructing Wellness will partner with you to find ways to nourish your body that help you thrive. We are here to assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, pantry clean-ups and cooking instruction.

Social Connection

Our ability to live our best life isn’t limited to the elements of movement and nutrition. While these are a large part of the puzzle, our relationships are key in helping us flourish. We can eat bundles of kale and workout every day of the week, but if our hearts aren’t fulfilled by the relationships we surround ourselves with, we’ll be left feeling incomplete.

There are many areas of social connection in our lives, from our partner, friendships, extended family, work colleagues, volunteer organizations, community involvement and more. We’re here to be one aspect of your community, offering encouragement and support.

Mindfulness

Stillness, focusing inward and simply breathing. The most simplistic of steps can be the most challenging to embrace and sustain. Deconstructing Wellness is here to help create lasting and fulfilling spiritual practices suited for you. 

Every day new research emerges to support the benefits of meditation and breath work. Our hope is to help spread the belief that mental exercise is as valuable for our performance and health as physical exercise, and to provide simple ways to incorporate practices into our daily routine.

Activity

Movement is key in our lives, and enjoyment of the process is equally important. If we enjoy what we’re doing, we’re exponentially more likely to make it a priority in our lives. We are committed to partnering with you to help find activity options that are suited to you through the changing stages of your life. We will seek out new innovations in the fitness industry and test them for you, taking the time and risk away.
